HEAD OF SCHOOL / TUTOR – EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (Hamilton)

Hamilton Based.

We are looking for a Head of School / Tutor for our Early Childhood Education programmes, who is passionate about being involved in training the next generation of early childhood educators. Vision College is a Christian based nationwide provider with our head office located in Hamilton, and have a long history of providing quality education opportunities across New Zealand for over 30 years.

As Head of School you will oversee the Certificate and Diploma programmes across our four campuses, ensuring quality delivery and service to our learners.

The HoS manages the programme budget and will be responsible for meeting KPIs and Educational Performance Indicators across the various delivery sites.

Ideally you will have a degree or post graduate qualification, and relevant industry experience. An adult teaching qualification and track record of leading successful teams would be beneficial, but a passion to make a difference and a strong alignment to our values are essential.

The position provides leadership and management of teaching staff, works with the other Heads of schools and reports to the National Manager. Some tutoring is also required.

Clinical Educator: Counselling Children & Young People (Christchurch)

Our Bachelor of Counselling qualification is recognised as a transformative programme by our students and alumni. We develop Person Centred and experientially focused Counsellors, prepare them for membership of the Professional Associations (NZAC; NZCCA), and equip them to engage in a unique career transforming the lives of others.

We have an opportunity at Level 7 tutoring our ‘Counselling Children and Young People’ 15 credit paper in Semester 2.

‘Counselling Children and Young People’ provides a theoretical framework to explore the attributes and knowledge required to be an effective Counsellor with children and young people in Aotearoa New Zealand, and develop foundational skills in working with children and young people.

Digital Media Tutor

We are looking for 3 Digital Media Tutors

Based in East Tamaki, Pukekoke and Christchurch

Full – time, permanent role.

Do you enjoy equipping youth with key digital media skills and understand how to embed numeracy and literacy within a curriculum?

We are seeking the services of a full-time tutor at 3 of our campuses to deliver the Level 2 Digital Media programme. The free 19-week course is for youth aged 16 to 19 and provides the skills needed to transition into Level 3 or above courses as well as offering the opportunity to gain NCEA. Aspects of numeracy and literacy are embedded throughout the course allowing students the opportunity to gain NCEA as well as the New Zealand Certificate in Arts and Design Level 2.

We are looking for:

  • a creative, passionate and committed tutor proficient in the use of digital media
  • a proven track record delivering formal training programmes to youth
  • Successful training in:
    • Unit Standard 4098 (Assessor Training)
    • The National Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education
  • an understanding of the Youth Guarantee Training Scheme would be beneficial
  • experience in collecting naturally occurring evidence for the 266xx Literacy and Numeracy unit standards series, and determining if the required standards are met
